Almost 12 months since a fire badly damaged the 140-year-old boathouse at Marlow Rowing Club (Tony Buzan’s home away from home), the community gathered together to raise money to rebuild and return the club to its former glory, as well as for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The main event was ‘Row with Redgrave’ – an exclusive opportunity for guests to row with the five times Olympic rowing gold medallist, Sir Steve Redgrave. Six of the guests rose to the challenge, one of which being our very own Tony Buzan.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Tony and Steve have met on the water. Tony has done a lot of work with Steve and other Olympic athletes to aid their mental preparation and training for big events. They also collaborated on Tony’s 2001 book ‘Head Strong – How to get physically and mentally fit’.
“Tony Buzan is one of the very few people I have met who really understands how important the brain is to any sportsman or woman….a breakthrough for anyone who wants to go out there and win and for anyone wanting a fitter, healthier and more successful life.” Sir Steve Redgrave
The event managed to raise an impressive £10,000 which will be split between the fund to rebuild Marlow Rowing Club and Macmillan Cancer Support. You can find out more here.← iMindMap 6 リリース! 5 Key Tips for Becoming a Champion with iMindMap 6 →
